Decibel Geek Podcast Introduction

1:28This is the Decibel Geek Podcast with Chris Sinzak and Aaron Camaro. When you need to know the latest and greatest happenings in the world of hard rock and heavy metal music, well, who better to bring it to you than your boys right here on the Decibel Geek Podcast. My name is Aaron Camaro, along with Chris Sinzak bringing the news, because this is Geek Wire.

2:01You know how it is. It's the good, the bad, the ugly, sometimes stupid. All the news. The important stuff you need to know. Chris Sinzak, with his finger on the pulse of everything happening in the world, going to lay it all out for us. We're going to learn a little something here today. How's it going, brother? You got the news?

Ted Poley and Sebastian Bach Story

2:17Yeah, and this first story I'm a little hesitant to even go into. Have you been following the updates on the story that is listed at the top of our list today? Well, I just saw the initial thing, because the Monsters of Rock cruise had just recently happened, right? Or is it still happening? Is it still going? No, it just ended. Okay, so it just ended. And I think the big story coming out of that was Ted Poley from Danger Danger spazzing out on Sebastian Bach. Or maybe it was the other way around, because according to Ted Poley's angry post,

2:51Sebastian Bach was being a drunk asshole and starting shit with people, including Ted Poley and Stevie Rochelle. At first, I thought, there's something fishy about this, because if Sebastian Bach was messing with Stevie Rochelle, Stevie Rochelle would grab him by his ankles and mop the floor with his ass. So that seemed off to me right there. So then later on, what happened? Ted Poley pulled it back and apologized for it? Yeah, so I do have the original post, but since he pulled it down, I'm not going to read it.

3:24But him putting Sebastian on blast, essentially the story I've kind of gleaned from all this, from what he said, from what other people that were on the boat said, was like, I think it started with Bach and his wife getting in the face of Stevie and his wife, or vice versa. Oh, shit. Because as we know, Bach is no fan of Stevie. And apparently it was when this was going on that Ted Poley just happens to walk in,

3:59and he is a fan of Sebastian and loves his painting and loves his music, and he was like a singer that he really looked up to. Okay, I did not know that. He doesn't realize that Sebastian's in this heated thing with Stevie and his wife, and Ted comes up like, hey, Sebastian, how's it going? And Sebastian apparently whipped around and was a real prick to him. Give me a minute here, man. I'm trying to be a dick to Stevie Rochelle. Basically. And so Ted Poley, being really kind of hurt by it, vented on Facebook.

4:34And it was like, you know, basically all the rumors are true. You're a piece of shit. And yeah, I used to look up to you and blah, blah, blah. And then he pulled it down, and then he put a public apology to Sebastian up a few hours later. But by that point, everyone had shared it, including me.

4:54It was like metal sludge brought to life. Yeah. A lot of us ran with it. Because all I did was share the post and said, I'm getting the sense of battered. But that's the takeaway, is Ted apologized, and I shouldn't have blown up, and blah, blah, blah. Stevie Rochelle showed a lot of personal restraint. I don't know. I mean, it must have been. Otherwise, there would have been an assault. Yeah. But Stevie's been quiet.

5:24I'm sure something's coming soon. And I even messaged him and said, can't wait for the recap. But no, so I don't know. Ted's been like ultra apologetic, kind of to a point where he keeps reigniting it. He needs to just stop talking about it. Yeah. I'm really, really sorry for what I said, Sebastian. I was out of line. What, something about his cat dying? Yeah, his cat also died while he was gone. So he was in emotional stress, too, at that time. Yeah. Can I still buy your paintings?

5:55Well, it became like groveling. And it's like, Ted, don't lower yourself so much. Because it's like, we all know who this guy is. It's just another example of it. Right. And we met Ted Poley. He was a super sweet guy. Yeah, when he was in town for Farm Rock. Yeah. Another shady promoter that ran off with a bunch of money. Got a great show out of it, though. Oh, yeah, the whole weekend was a blast.

6:25But, yeah, it sucks that a lot of people didn't get paid like they were supposed to. But, no, it was, I don't know. It's kind of sad. Sebastian has not commented on it, which I find kind of interesting. So he's probably waiting to see what Stevie posts. Yeah.

6:41The drama. Like I said, I don't, if those two got in a fight, I'd have to put my money on Stevie Rochelle. Yeah. No doubt.

6:52Stevie's like a health nut. Yeah, it couldn't have been that serious. Or, you know, like I said, you know, Stevie's a cool, calm, collected dude. Yeah. Showing restraint. Not beating the living snot out of Sebastian Bach on a ship. That was probably a lot of restraint because from, according to accounts, Sebastian was a drunken mess. Oh, so he was a drunken mess. Oh, yeah. See, and Stevie Rochelle's not a drinker. He never has been. Doesn't touch anything. Yeah.

7:21Sebastian Bach was dancing with danger. He's going to get buried under that ruck-a-pit bridge. Yeah, right.

7:34Oh, man. Too funny. This is September. Time to surrender. Don't need to play on my mind sheet. I see a lion. Your love is crying now. Now. One more time. Show me the way. Do you want it? Do you want it? Go downtown. I want to take you down to the ruck-a-pit bridge. Do you want it? Do you want it? Go downtown. Get by the toe and sneak away. The ruck-a-pit bridge.

8:05Do you want it? Hold down. I want to take you down to the ruck-a-pit. Ruck-a-gah-gah-gah-gah-gah-gah. Ruck-a-pit bridge. Yeah. Yeah.

Slayer 40th Anniversary Shows

8:15Slayer, my favorite retired band that keeps putting on shows, have announced 40th anniversary shows for the classic third album, Rain and Blood, with two U.S. headlining shows featuring the LP performed in full, including their first L.A. concert in seven years. Dave Lombardo.

8:45I'll get to that. They're going to play September 4th in Shakopee, Minnesota, at the Mystic Lake Amphitheater, and November 13th in Englewood, California, at the Kia Forum. At the Forum. Damn. That city in Minnesota sounds pretty metal. Shakopee.

9:03Um, no, it's Bostaff. I don't know why you want to do nothing against him, but damn, you know, you're doing 40th anniversary of that album. Bring back Lombardo for it. Come on. At least for that. Yeah, because you're celebrating an album he's on. Why not? Yeah. Yeah. Here's one where I'm just going to read the headline and I have a joke, unless you want

9:50to expound on this. Kyle Thomas says, quote, it's pointless to argue over whether Pantera was influenced by Exhorter. And to that I say, you're right. Next story. I got nothing to add to that. Okay, cool. I'm just agreeing with him. Ex what? Ex what? Ex what? Ex what? Ex what? Ex what? Ex what? Ex what? Ex what? Ex what? Ex what? Ex what? Ex what? Ex what? Ex what? Ex what? Ex what? Ex what?

10:20Ex what? Ex what? Ex what? Ex what? Ex what? Ex what? Your soul Imperials And rebels All trying To get control Grow like a red Come on a gold-bound prince And taking time In the cruise Innocence Your thomacism Breaks into Time is running Out for you

10:55Billy Corgan Here's a Here's a thing Where our world's Kind of crossed here Billy Corgan Has landed A major TV deal For his National Wrestling Alliance Do you hear about this? I don't know I hear this all the time Like a couple of times A year Major TV deal Is it on CBS NBC ABC No It's on Sinclair's Comet TV Uh-huh But I will say I like the spirit Of it Because he's

11:26He wants it He basically wants Free over the air Wrestling Like it used to be When he was a kid Which is why He's trying to do At least that's the way He's framing it He's probably been Pitching it to everybody So get a YouTube channel Well yeah I mean everyone Watches YouTube anyway I mean if this other Thing is I mean unless They're paying you But I don't know I've never heard of that Before To where they're Dishing out CBS money to you Or No they're not Or USA Network Or

11:56TNT Or something like that Then really You call it a major TV deal When it's really Harder to Harder to access Than it is just to go On YouTube And watch it Well to give you An idea Because I have Well when I had Well actually I have Over the air TV So yeah I do have Comet TV And I've seen it So to give you An idea It will air between Reruns of the Waltons and Gilligan's Island So that's the Type of TV Channel we're

12:27Talking So I guess it is Kind of lo-fi UHF type You know Programming But I wouldn't Call it a major TV deal No No And it's tough For wrestling Nowadays Because There's so much Of it on TV Yeah You know Between WWE And AEW I mean You can watch Live pro wrestling Pretty much every Night of the week If you wanted to When I was a kid That would have Been a dream come True Now that I'm An adult It's like I don't

12:58Have time to Watch all that I used to just Watch it on Saturday mornings Right Yeah When I was a kid Like you'd have Saturday mornings Unless it was Preempted by College football Which would be Terrible Because I'd Wait through All the cartoons And when like 11 o'clock Or whatever Would come around You'd be like Please be wrestling Please be wrestling Please be wrestling You'd be like College football And you'd be like Damn it Oh man Probably turned you Off to college

13:29Football for a while Yeah I don't I don't Watch college Football I only watch The pros It's funny I was looking At comments From This news Around the internet And Man the NWA Doesn't have a Great reputation Apparently Yeah It's not that Entertaining You know What's the Hottest thing And this is Kind of music Related too The hottest Thing in Wrestling Right now Is The ICP's Juggalo Championship Wrestling They have Their own Wrestling Yeah Company Well they have For years

13:59Years and years Like back When they first Started They have been Both under Contract to WCW ECW And the WWE at one Time or another Wow Yeah And perform Matches and Everything So I mean Wrestling is a Huge part Of what ICP is And so They've had This juggalo Championship Wrestling for Years And here Recently They've kind of Really put a lot Into it as far As like What's it going To take to Actually Instead of

14:29Making this Just be a Side thing That we do Sometimes Into a Real wrestling Show And you Know what It's pretty Damn good Because it's It reminds me Of like 90s pro Wrestling Where it was Like anything Goes Like in the 90s they did Shit on Cable TV That you could Never do Today In the Attitude Era And this Is more of A throwback To that Where their Stuff's all Real edgy They have No problem Swearing You know So they're Dropping

14:59F-bombs All over The place And it's Like pro Wrestling for Adults You know It's actually Pretty cool But NWA I don't know I don't want To disparage It but It's just Not that Exciting Needs better Riders Maybe I'm busy You are Busy But you know If Billy Corgan Wants to cut Me a check Or put me

15:29On payroll I wouldn't I'd have to At least talk To him About it I'm pretty Damn good At that Stuff That'd be Interesting Having him For your Boss Yeah If I should Chance Retrace

16:00If I Don't Mind To Rock Away To Save the Stone What I Don't Know Is Life When I Don't Know What's Right As opposed With The Vines Cause What is Money Griff And what is Yours Ain't Right They They They They You Can't Resist As if These Are My Times Oh Never Mind Let's

16:31Go Better Angels Better Souls In Fold Take Me Where The Wind Flow Lift Me Higher Won't You Take Hold Nothing For The Sick Of Zero All

17:13Right Former Whitesnake And Night Ranger Guitars Joel Hoekstra Is Now Going To Join Steven Piercy Solo Band For His Upcoming 2026 Tour Did you Hear About This No That's A good Choice For Sure And Steven's Had A lot Of Players In And Out Of His Solo Band But I Guess Hoekstra Could Kind of Be Considered Mr. Reliable Because He Just Nails Every Gig That He Gets Yeah And He's Damn Good So There Ain't A Whole Lot

17:43He Can't Play And I Would Think You Know You Got To Give It To Steven Piercy Here Because He Could Just Go Get Some No Name Somebody And Pay Him Half Of What He's Paying Joel Holkstra But That Shows You That He's Taking This Tour Seriously And He Wants It To Be Good So He's Got To Get A Damn Good Guitar Player He's Got It In Joel Holkstra And They're Doing The Tour Is Commemorating The 40th Anniversary Of Dancing Undercover So They're Playing The Whole Album Right On That's Cool Last Elias On Drums

18:14Right On That's That's Good He's Got A Good Band And I Think He's Got A New Album Coming Out Too And I'm Wondering If It's Joel Playing On It Cause Like He Did A Teaser The Other Day And It Was Like Can You Guess Who This Guest Guitarist Is On The Lead Guitar And I Thought It Was Warren And It Still Might Be Warren But With This News I'm Wondering If It Was Joel Hoekstra It's Hard To Tell Cause I Heard That Too And I Thought It Was George Lynch Oh Did You Yeah I Could See That Too Who Knows

18:44But Yeah That's A Good Solid Band To Take Out On The Road Doing Some Old Rat Classics

23:49It does and that band was good Really good I think they should keep going Yeah That was one of the more surprising I guess quote-unquote heritage rock releases I've heard was the last couple things they've put out Yeah and they were really reliable for putting out new music all the time too Certainly a lot better than British Lion but that's another story You say mental slaughter As you're tired of the news Secret new world order

25:34Recently announced as inductees for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame will not be at the ceremony because they will be on tour in Australia Oh shit They finally get in and they can't even be there So then all that talk about who's going to be included and who's not really don't matter Yeah so it's like Blaze going to show up and accept My name is Blaze Bailey I was in the band for two years I'm here to accept this award in the honor of Iron Maiden I was in Leather Wolf

26:04No no no Wolfsbane Oh Wolfsbane Yeah yeah I get them mixed up Don't worry The five other people that know those bands also do Yeah shit Man That sucks As somebody who doesn't care at all for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame I think it's hilarious Yeah I guess so I don't know But you wish I mean you wish they would be able to enjoy the moment I guess I'm sure Mel Niko Niko will at least be there

26:35I'm sure Yeah See it's tough Because like On one hand you go Yeah who cares about the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame But then they finally induct Iron Maiden You go well that's cool Just don't pay attention to the whole rest of the list And just only Zone in on Iron Maiden Got inducted And then the Hall of Fame is pretty cool Even though it's way overdue It's way overdue But like I still think it's I don't know It's illegitimate It's just a bunch of Snobby assholes

27:06That decide what's cool And what isn't Yeah They threw us a bone With this one Yeah Whenever anyone seems to treat me like a freak It makes me see I'm the only one who feels That I know what is real Sometimes it feels like a game of deadly hygiene And when you're reading this then I will be gone Maybe then you will see Do you believe what you hear? 29:12And Paul had said In a recent interview That the biggest reason Is because It's hard to find boats Because so many bands Do the cruises now Yeah That's true I see them all the time And there's all different kinds Like there's a cruise For just about Anything you like Anything anybody could like The Creed cruise Just sold out again It's going on right now I'm sure the Crocheting cruise Is pretty popular And you know I know there For a fact That there's like A Green Bay Packer Fan cruise I mean there's

30:12Right There's wrestling Cruises too Chris Jericho's got I think the best one And it's like You know I don't think If I was going to Take a cruise That I'd want to Go to a wrestling One either Because Like that seems It's work You know When you go to A festival like that Now you're on a boat Fuck that I don't know People that have Gone to the Kiss cruises Over the years Though sure do Smile a lot In their photos Yeah they swear by them Look like they're Having the time Of their lives The kiss one I kind of regret Not going on One kiss cruise But
